Play a part in the Kildare Craft Network

Improve your marketing capabilities and increase revenue potential through the establishment and management of a Kildare Craft Network.

The programme is open to Makers who are willing to commit themselves to establishing a dynamic and effective craft network in Kildare.

The process involves participating in a training programme that underpins the formal process of developing the network and associated activities.

Building on the significant national profile of craft makers in County Kildare, Local Enterprise Office Kildare and County Kildare LEADER Partnership are seeking expressions of interest from professional makers who wish to avail of training to facilitate the development of a craft network for County Kildare.

When:

The training and establishment of the network will take place over a ten month period starting on Tuesday10th September 2019 from 2pm – 5pm, subsequent training sessions to take place weekly on Tuesday evenings for up to 24 weeks. (6pm – 9pm).  

The first block will run from September 2019 to November 2019

The second block starting in January 2020

Interviews: All applicants will be subject to an interview with programme facilitator Mr Vincent O’Shea (interviews taking place week beginning 26th August 2019)

 

Selected participants will be informed on or before Friday 30th August 2019

Training Content:

Experienced professionals from the craft sector will support and provide the training which will involve:

-    Group and individual sessions that promote the potential of individual Makers and the Network.

-    Skills development, to maintain and consolidate the work of establishing the network and future operations.

-    Developing a brand and identity for the network.

-    Developing stories based on the Membership and their work.

-    Producing professional photography of member’s work.

-    The development of an identity for the network, a website and social media presence.

-    Devising marketing, sales and promotional opportunities for members.

-    Developing goals for the network.

-    Exploring best practice from other networks in Ireland.

-    Develop a presence for the network at Showcase and other trade events.

-    Defining governance, management and financial structures for the network.

-    Writing a development plan for the Network

-    Scoping the development of a retail outlet for network members.

-    Establishing working relationships with the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland (DCCOI), tourism interests and business support agencies.
